Mrs. Joyce, lovingly known as Mama J, shares the power of family in her story, and how her childhood's tight-knit, interdependent community influenced her pursuit of social, racial, and economic justice. Reverend Johnson, or Rev. J, similarly shares how his family's perceptions of the world around them influenced his initial conceptions of race in America.
